Brave Hearts on the Murray has been an amazing supporter of the Albury Wodonga Cancer Foundation Inc. for some years. We very much appreciate their donations to help us to run the AWCF Financial Assistance Programme.
Jenny Black, as chair of Brave Hearts had these words to say.
Brave Hearts on the Murray is a non for profit incorporated association that has successfully initiated and facilitated many projects since 2005, that all aim to support and provide assistance to the health and wellbeing of individuals and their families affected by a cancer diagnosis in the Albury Wodonga region.
Examples of some of our projects include firstly
*Our much loved Brave Hearts Dragon Boat Club
that is rich in history and offers cancer survivors and their supporters the opportunity of enjoying exercise, friendship and support through the fun loving sport of dragon boating.
*Our Wig Library, situated in the Wellness Centre of the Regional Cancer Centre, offers affordable and beautiful wigs for those people undergoing cancer treatments.
*Pamper days
for people on extended cancer treatments
*A beautiful book - What Cancer Taught Me
-that aims to give hope and inspiration to people newly diagnosed with cancer through the inspiring stories of everyday people who have walked the path before them.
*Celebration Rose Garden
which is beautiful tribute rose garden that offers a special place of reflection to commemorate and celebrate those touched by cancer
*Annual significant donation to our local Albury Wodonga Medical Oncology Research Centre
*We are proudly a major sponsor of the Albury Wodonga Cancer Foundation Financial Assistance Program
that provides financial assistance to residents of our region who face financial hardship whilst undergoing cancer treatments
We have always been thrilled to be able to work closely alongside the Albury Wodonga Cancer Foundation, as our missions run parallel with each other. Hence the Financial Assistance Program definitely reflects our mandate and fits closely with our aims of supporting our regional population who have been touched by a cancer diagnosis.
THANK YOU TO BRAVE HEARTS!
